Product Properties: As a quaternary ammonium cationic surfactant, it has good surface activity and sterilizing performance. It can be used for sterilization of algae, slime stripping and system cleaning in industrial water treatment systems. Cetylpyridinium chloride CPC is used as a disinfectant and exhibits effective antibacterial properties against a wide range of microorganisms. Under the same conditions of use, the killing rate of the product against heterotrophic bacteria, iron bacteria and sulfate reducing bacteria isbetter than that of lauryldimethylbenzylammonium chloride, dodecyl dimethyl phenylmethyl ammonium bromide and other commonly used quaternary ammonium bactericides. For example, at the dosage of 10 mg/L, the killing rates of the product to heterotrophic bacteria, iron bacteria, and sulfate reducing bacteria were 99.9%, 99.9%, and 99.99% respectively.

It is also an ion association reagent for extraction photometric analysis and a sensitizer for metal photometric determination
